Dindigul: Vinod (32) is a resident from East Arogya Mata Nagar area in Dindigul Nagar. In 2016 a complaint was filed at the All Women Police Station that Vinod (32) had sexually assaulted a 15 year-old girl. Based on the complaint the police of Dindigul Nagar All Women Police Station arrested Vinod and his accomplice Samiyar Thotam Kavitha (37), a resident of the area, and jailed in a POCSO case.
While this case was being held in the Dindigul Mahila Court, Dindigul District Superintendent of Police Mr. V. Baskaran IPS, as per his instructions, Dindigul Nagar All Women Police Station Inspector Mrs. Muthulakshmi, Court Chief Constable Mrs. Jyothi, and Public Prosecutor Mrs. Jyothi, on 29.9.2022, Mdeti Dindigul Mahila Court Judge sentenced the accused Vinod to 40 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.40, 000/- and another convict Kavita to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.10,000/-.
