NTR District traffic Police has made the motorists aware about helmet wearing during the National Road Safety Week. For safe and accident free travel, prevention of road accidents as well as traffic congestion control, traffic regulations for the public, students of government private colleges and schools, auto, lorry and RTC. National Road Safety Week is celebrated every year in the month of January to create awareness among the drivers. On the occasion of National Road Safety Week-2023, on the orders of NTR District City Police Commissioner Mr. Kanti Rana Tata, IPS, under the supervision of Deputy Police Commissioner Gara, at all important places in the city, two-wheeler riders and public should be protected from road accidents. The district police officers conducted awareness programs about the necessity of helmets with the motto “Safety First Helmet Must” to wear helmets properly.
On this occasion, most of the road accidents are caused by two-wheelers. The main reason for this is that two-wheeler riders do not wear helmets. A person who leaves home on a two-wheeler is not expected to return safely. Losing the house is a hell of a different thing. He said that road accidents do not kill just one person, they break the whole family. We keep seeing such dire situations in front of our eyes all the time. He said it is better to be careful before thinking about the damage. Fearing fines and cases, many people buy helmets but do not pay attention to using them. He said that if they bring it along and see the police, they wear it or hang it on the handle of the cart. It is said that two-wheeler riders are dying due to not wearing helmets. There are many benefits of wearing a helmet. He said that it will protect the head from getting injured in an accident and it can save lives from danger. It is informed that it provides protection from dust, dirt and sun.
He said that with the use of helmets, we can get rid of road accidents and save lives with minor injuries. He said that as part of an effort to save two-wheeler riders from the grip of road accidents, awareness is being created among people about helmets across the district. They should buy light quality helmets with ISI mark, they should be designed to fit the head and should protect the head, neck and lower part of the chin. Two-wheeler riders have been made aware that they should be able to hear the horn of the vehicles behind while wearing a helmet.
