Siliguri : On (17.2.2023), at around 14:35 hours, SI Agen Lepcha and other officers of Matigara Police Station along with SOG SPC team, acting upon source information regarding sale of contraband drugs, held raid in the shop namely Loknath Medical Hall of one Atul Prasad Ghosh of Suryasenpally, Shivmandir, B.Ed College More, PO- Kadamtala, Matigara Police Station, Darjeeling District. From his possession the following articles were seized: One brown colour paper made cartoon box containing 720 strips of Winspasmo Forte (Tramadol HCI, Acetaminophen & Dicyclomine HCI Capsules), i.e. 720X24=17280;
One small brown colour cartoon box containing 6 of ‘Nitrozone-10’ tables( Nitrozepani Tablets IP-10Mg.) each Strip containing 10 tablets each i.e. 10X10X6= 600 tablets. It was found that the license to sell the drugs had also expired and that the accused was selling the contraband drugs illegally for his monetary gain and had violated the provisions of the NDPS Act. All the above contraband drugs were seized after adhering to the guidelines of NDPS Act. A case under NDPS Act had been initiated against the accused. Investigation is being carried out.
