Bhopal: While the participation of women in the police department improves the conduct of the police, it plays an effective role in the prevention of crimes against women. DGP Mr. Sudhir Saxena IPS expressed the above statement today through video conferencing on the closing occasion of “Phulwari”, a three-day seminar of women police officers/employees organized at PTS Pachmarhi from Police Headquarters, Bhopal. Congratulating on the successful and good event, he said that this seminar will be very useful and relevant for all the participants. Mutual interaction of officers of all levels during the seminar will bring positive changes in your personal and professional life which will help you to become a good police officer. DGP Mr. Saxena said that the participation of women in the police department is very old. First in Britain in 1845, in 1890 in the Chicago Police, then in 1938 in India, women were included in the police force. The target of the government in Madhya Pradesh is to have at least 33 percent women police personnel in the police force, which we are on the way to achieve. Now we are moving from gender sensitivity to gender equality. It has been concluded from various studies that in police stations where women’s desks are established and there is deployment of women police, the victimized women are able to tell their problems better, which ensures effective prevention of crimes against women. The fact has also come in the United Nation poll that the presence of women in the police department increases the public’s trust in the police. DGP Mr. Saxena said that women police officers/employees have proved themselves by their good deeds. He said that all of you should work while being healthy and happy, we are proud of your good work. Will seriously consider the recommendations made during the seminar. Expecting “Phulwari” to continue to run successfully like this in the future, he appreciated Additional Director General of Police (Training) Mrs. Anuradha Shankar and Superintendent of Police PTS Pachmarhi Mrs. Nimisha Pandey for such innovation. Giving information about the seminar “Phulwari”, PTS Pachmarhi Superintendent of Police Mrs. Nimisha Pandey said that this is the third consecutive event in which 122 women police officers/employees of the state participated.
