A group involved in the illegal smuggling of Interstate Red Sanders was apprehended by the Erravaripalem Police Station in the Bhakarapet circle. The police received reliable information about the gang’s activities and conducted vehicle checks to arrest 13 individuals at Anjaneya Swamy temple near Bodevandlapalli(V), Erravaripalem (M). However, two of the suspects managed to escape and are still at large.
During the arrest, the police confiscated 21 Red Sander logs, which were estimated to be worth around Rs.71 lakh. Additionally, they seized an XUV car and six motorbikes that were allegedly used by the gang to transport the logs. The Red Sanders logs are highly sought after in the international market, and their illegal trade is a significant problem in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
DGP Mr. K.V Rajendranath Reddy, IPS, expressed his appreciation for the Tirupati police for their alertness, strict vigilance, and display of professionalism in nabbing the Red Sanders smuggling gang. The police officers involved in the operation demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to their duty, resulting in the successful apprehension of the accused and the seizure of the contraband.
The illegal smuggling of Red Sanders is a significant issue in Andhra Pradesh, and the police have been actively working to crack down on these criminal activities. The smuggling of Red Sanders is not only a threat to the state’s natural resources but also contributes to organized crime and poses a danger to society. Therefore, the successful operation of the Erravaripalem Police Station is commendable, and it serves as an example of the police’s dedication to maintaining law and order in the state.
