Ariyalur: In the town of Ariyalur, specifically in Irulikurichi, a man named Pashupati, who also goes by the name Tamilarasan D/P. Rasangam, found himself in a distressing situation. While he was standing in front of the revered Murugan Temple in Irulikurichi, his tranquility was abruptly shattered by the unexpected arrival of two unidentified individuals. With menacing intent, they brandished a sharp knife and menacingly approached Pashupati, instilling fear in his heart.
Without hesitation, the assailants swiftly relieved Pashupati of his hard-earned money, snatching Rs. 1000/- from his pocket, and making a hasty escape from the scene. Recognizing the gravity of the incident and the need for justice, Pashupati wasted no time and promptly lodged a complaint at the nearby Irulikurichi police station.
Upon receiving Pashupati’s complaint, the diligent police officers took immediate action. They registered a case based on the details provided by Pashupati and launched a thorough investigation into the matter. Their unwavering determination led them to focus their attention on a man named Vijayakumar, aged 36, hailing from Kolathur in the neighboring Perambalur district.
As the investigation progressed, compelling evidence began to surface, implicating not only Vijayakumar but also two other individuals named Mr. Rajendran and Mr. Selvam, aged 34, from Sembanarkovil in the Mayiladuthurai district. The diligent police work revealed that all three men were involved in the unfortunate robbery that had befallen Pashupati.
Swift action was taken, and both Mr. Rajendran and Mr. Selvam were apprehended by the law enforcement authorities. In a significant breakthrough, the police managed to seize Rs. 800/- from the possession of the apprehended individuals, providing further evidence of their involvement in the crime.
However, the story did not end there. During the subsequent interrogation of the arrested individuals, shocking revelations unfolded. It came to light that the accused trio had previously orchestrated a break-in at a Tasmac shop located in Irulikurichi in January, resulting in a theft. Additionally, just two days before the incident involving Pashupati, they had brazenly burglarized yet another Tasmac shop in the Mayiladuthurai area, demonstrating their audacity and repeated criminal behavior.
Furthermore, it was discovered that Vijayakumar, the prime suspect, had a sordid criminal history, with various pending cases against him in the neighboring districts of Thanjavur and Perambalur. This revelation painted a vivid picture of Vijayakumar’s inclination towards engaging in illicit activities, further solidifying his involvement in the robbery and reinforcing the seriousness of the charges against him.
Subsequently, the apprehended individuals were presented before the court of law, where the evidence against them was meticulously examined. Recognizing the weight of the evidence and the potential threat they posed to society, the court made the decision to remand the accused individuals into judicial custody. This decision aimed to ensure their confinement and prevent any further harm they might inflict on innocent citizens.
The incident involving Pashupati serves as a stark reminder of the constant vigilance required to maintain public safety and the unwavering dedication of law enforcement authorities to pursue justice. The determined efforts of the Irulikurichi police not only led to the swift resolution of Pashupati’s case but also uncovered a string of other criminal activities, potentially protecting numerous victims from further harm.
