In a solemn ceremony held today, the Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Bhagwant Mann, and the Director General of Punjab Police, Mr. Gaurav Yadav, IPS, along with the Special Director General of Welfare, came together to express their deepest condolences and provide financial support to the families of three fallen heroes of the Punjab Police.
With heavy hearts, a sum of Rs.1 crore was handed over to the grieving family of ASI Sanjeev Kumar from Jalandhar, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving on the front lines. This substantial amount aims to alleviate their financial burdens and offer some solace during this difficult time.
In a poignant gesture of recognition and support, checks amounting to Rs.50 lakhs each were also presented to the families of ASI Parnam Singh from Hoshiarpur Police and ASI Gurlal Singh from Amritsar, who tragically lost their lives in separate accidents while carrying out their duties. The monetary assistance serves as a token of gratitude for their dedicated service and a means to assist their families in their healing process.
Additionally, a commendable effort has been made to ensure the future education of the children left behind by these valiant officers. An additional amount of Rs.4 lakhs has been allocated specifically for the educational needs of the wards of the deceased Punjab Police Personnel. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the next generation and ensuring they have access to quality education.
During this somber occasion, our thoughts and prayers go out to the grieving families. We honor the courage and sacrifice of ASI Sanjeev Kumar, ASI Parnam Singh, and ASI Gurlal Singh, who served as beacons of bravery and dedication.
