Tuticorin: In the ‘Sagar Gavach’ security exercise held on behalf of the Tuticorin Coast Guard, a rehearsal was held at the Tuticorin New Port to rescue hostages taken by terrorists. Last 2 days (10.10.2023) and (11.10.2023) ‘Sagar Kavach’, a training exercise to prevent infiltration of terrorists through Tamil Nadu and Puducherry sea, was conducted by Indian Coast Guard. In this on 11.10.2023 on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Police Coast Guard Group, a rehearsal program was held on behalf of the Additional Director of Police, in Tuticorin district, after 6 terrorists entered the new harbor by sea, seized the office at the mouth of the new harbor and held the 4 employees who were working there as hostages. In this, Tuticorin District Superintendent of Police Dr. L. Balaji Saravanan, Nagapattinam Coast Guard Group Superintendent of Police Mr. Mr. Ativeerapandian, Deputy Collector of Thoothukudi District. Mr. Gaurav Kumar IAS and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Coast Guard Group Tuticorin. Mr. Pradapan and many other security officials were present.
