VIJAYAWADA: After receiving a tip off the City Task Force and Bhavanipuram Police arrested seven accused when they were loading ganja in a car at Gollapudi One Center on Thursday. Mr G Pala Raju, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) said that the Police received a tip off that seven persons were smuggling 200 kg of ganja from Visakhapatnam Agency to Parakala of Nizamabad district in Telangana. G Bhaskara Rao, Sangi Venkataramana, Kintari Bhaskara Rao and I Mahesh Babu have purchased the ganja from tribals. Police said, several cases were registered against them. The accused had agreed to supply 200 kgs of ganja to A Ramu and G Yadav Prasad of Warangal and they planned to handover the ganja to Parakala of Nizamabad. The accused while travelling in a car met with an accident at Chebrolu in West Godavari district, but they arranged another cab driver K Srinivasa Rao to transport the ganja, Police said. Again the accused changed their plan and decided to shift the ganja to another car in Vijayawada when Police arrested the accused while they were shifting the ganja bags in to the car at Gollapudi One Center. A Skoda car was seized by the Police. Mr Pala Raju said the accused were remanded. ]]>
