Tirupati: District SP Mr. P. Parameswara Reddy IPS paid tributes to the policemen who died in the line of duty at the “Police Martyrs Stupam” of the District Police Parade Ground. Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Narayanaswamy was the chief guest and District Collector Mr. Venkataramana Reddy IAS was the special guest. Police is the compass for maintaining peace and security. Without them there will be no peace and security in any country. Police protect from the borders of the country to the borders of our homes. The entire nation is indebted to the police who work tirelessly day and night for the welfare of the society. Andhra Pradesh government, which is the first in the country in terms of welfare of the people, is also working very hard for the welfare of the police. 188 policemen who died this year across the country, Tirupati district police paid tribute to one in the state.

The family members of the five policemen who died in Tirupati district will be honored and given mementos. On the occasion of Police Martyrs’ Day, Tirupati District Police under the direction of District SP Mr. P. Parameswara Reddy IPS. paid tributes to them at the Police Martyrs’ Stupa at the District Police Parade Ground on Saturday morning, commemorating the sacrifice of their lives. Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Narayana Swamy was the chief guest for this program and District Collector Mr. Venkataramana IAS was the special guest. Garu, Tirupati Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mrs. Haritha IAS. Garu, TUDA Chairman Mr. Chevireddy Mohit Reddy, district officials were present and paid tribute to the police martyrs and gave a speech.

State Deputy Chief Minister Mr. K. Narayana Swamy Garu said that if the whole world is sleeping, the police will wake up and protect peace and security regardless of the sun, rain, day or night even if they are not available to celebrate the festival with their families. Police Martyrs Day is celebrated on October 21 every year. He said that it is our duty to remember the immortal heroes who have sacrificed their lives for all of us. It is our honor to remember the sacrifices of the policemen who fought peacefully for the welfare of the society and to rest their souls in peace. He said that the state government is giving importance to the health and safety of the police and is implementing compensation for those who die in the line of duty and compassionate appointment. In addition to this, for the welfare of the home guards, the government is providing 10 lakhs to those who die in accidents and 5 lakhs to those who die naturally in the service.

District SP Mr. P. Parameswara Reddy IPS., speaking in his welcome speech said that it is the duty of all of us to remember the martyrs of the police in the country who sacrificed their lives day and night for the security of the country in the performance of their duties on October 21 every year. A hot spring in Akshay Chin area on the India-China border at a height of 16,000 feet in the middle of the blood-curdling snow mountains stands out among us for the sacrifices of the immortal soldiers. Commemorating policemen who have lost their lives in the line of duty across the country, the observance of Police Martyrs’ Day every year on October 21 started from this holy place. The areas of Ladakh and Siarjin, the Indian territories bordering China, are crucial for military operations. Border Security Force Before the establishment of special security forces like the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was responsible for protecting the borders. On October 21, 1959, a 21-member team from Punjab headed by DSP Mr. Karam Singh was on duty along the border, when the Chinese defense forces attempted to occupy the Siachen territory and the CRPF. The troop fought fiercely at the hot spring area, where 10 Indian soldiers lost their lives, and the blood-soaked spring area is today a holy place. He said that every year a team of policemen from all states visit this holy place and pay homage.

Every year the number of heroic deaths of police officers in line of duty is increasing as part of maintaining law and order for public welfare. He said that 188 people in our country, 1 in our state and 5 in the district have been injured from 01-09-2022 to 31-08-2023. He said that with the aim of supporting the families of the 5 policemen who died in the district and their welfare, we will stand by the policemen in continuous duty and be partners in protecting the peace and security of the people as friendly policemen. District Collector Mr. Venkataramana Reddy IAS said that it is a great yagna to remember those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country and the people, putting their families aside in the performance of duty. He said that it is our duty to be a part of Martyrs’ Day, remember and mourn them. Additional SP Administration Mr. Venkatarao recited the names of 188 martyred policemen across the country and remembered them. Public representatives, families of Ashuvulu Basina policemen who attended the program offered flowers at the Stupa of the martyrs.

They paid their respects and observed two minutes of silence. Later, they visited the family members of the martyred police officers and staff, Mohammad Rafi, Veeranjaneyu, Mohan, Ramesh Naik and Suresh Kumar, and honored them and handed over mementos. District SP Mr. P. Parameswara Reddy IPS conveyed his deepest condolences to the family members and reminded them of the exemplary services rendered by the martyred policemen to the police department. , Garu assured. Additional SPs Administration Mr. Venkata Rao, Peace and Security Mr. Kulasekhar, Crime Branch Mr. Vimala, Kumari SEB Rajendra, Armed Forces Mr. Lakshminarayana Reddy, DSPs Mr. Giridhara SB, Mr. Surendra Reddy Tirupati, Mr. Yashwant Chandragiri, Mr. Bhavya Kishore Renigunta, Mr. Narasappa Tirupati Traffic, Mr. Srinivasa Rao Puttur, Mr. Bhaskar Reddy Tirumala, Mr. Ravindra Reddy AR, Mr. Chandrasekhar AR, CIs, RIs, SIs, RSIs and police personnel of the district participated and paid tributes at the stupa of the martyrs.
