Guna: In Guna, Superintendent of Police Mr. Vijay Kumar Khatri, displaying a high level of sensitivity towards crimes against minor boys and girls in the district, promptly took action in these cases. He issued strict instructions to his team to ensure the harshest penalties for the culprits. Following these directives, Kent Police Station, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Man Singh Thakur and CSP Guna Mrs. Shweta Gupta, achieved a significant breakthrough by rescuing two minor girls who had been kidnapped from the police station area. The accused individuals involved in their abduction and rape were apprehended.
On September 26, 2023, a report was filed by the victim’s father at Kent police station, stating that his 16-year-old daughter had left home without informing anyone. A case was registered and investigated accordingly. Similarly, on October 07, 2023, the victim’s mother reported at Kent police station that her 15-year-old daughter had similarly gone missing. A case was registered and investigated.
Inspector Pankaj Tyagi, in-charge of Kent police station, and his team conducted extensive searches for the kidnapped girls in both cases, mobilizing their informant network. Additionally, various technical resources were employed to track down the perpetrators. As a result, on October 21, 2023, the individuals responsible for both kidnappings were apprehended and reunited with their families. Statements from the victims were recorded, leading to the registration of cases against the accused, Lal Singh, son of Ramjilal Lodhi from Padora village, Shivpuri district, and Pushpendra, son of Hanumant Singh Lodhi from Shergarh Rupepur village, Shivpuri district.
The POCSO Act, enacted in 2017, was applied in both cases. The accused, Lal Singh (20 years old) and Pushpendra (19 years old), were arrested in October 2023. They were presented before the Honorable Court, which subsequently remanded them to custody.
