Palakkad: Mr. Subhas Sivaraman, a 40-year-old native of Alanlur in Mannarkkad, was apprehended by the Mannarkkad Police and District Anti-Narcotics Squad for possession of 33.8 grams of MDMA at Arayam Kod, Mannarkkad. He is believed to be the primary distributor of drugs in the Mannarkad and Alanallur region. The authorities also seized the motorcycle used for drug transportation.
A thorough investigation is underway to trace the origin of the narcotics and dismantle the distribution network in which the accused was involved. Subhash had been under surveillance by the district anti-drug squad for several days. The squad, under the guidance of Palakkad District Police Chief R. Anand IPS, and led by Mannarkkad DYSP, Sub Inspector Mr. Vivek, along with the district anti-narcotics squad headed by Sub Inspector H. Harshad and Pramod, conducted the operation resulting in the apprehension of both the suspect and the contraband. The district anti-narcotics squad is taking stringent measures to curb the escalating drug trade and consumption in the Mannarkkad area.
