North and Middle Andaman: On 24th October 2023, the Diglipur Police Station team, led by SI Mohd. Rafique and comprising of HC Santosh Nair, PCs Samresh Mistry, Radhesham Howlader, Abubacker Siddique, Soma Dey, and Pawan Singh, conducted a proactive operation within their jurisdiction. This operation resulted in the seizure of 9 different-sized Aluminium Degchis and 1 plastic bucket containing 60 kg of illicit Handia. The accused has been apprehended, and a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the law.
In a separate operation on 23rd October 2023, the Kalighat Police Station team, including PCs Sushil Sarkar, Ranjit Biswas, and Baikanto Majhi, initiated a jungle search operation in the Talbagan area, specifically targeting the illegal production and distribution of illicit liquor. Their prompt and decisive action led to the successful disposal of a substantial 400 liters of ‘Lehan.’
These operations are part of the ongoing endeavors by the North & Middle Andaman District Police to combat the illicit liquor trade in the region and ensure the safety and well-being of the community. The operations were executed with the utmost professionalism and precision, underscoring the dedication and commitment of the police force in protecting the community from the adverse impacts associated with the illegal liquor trade.
The entire operation was conducted under the leadership of the respective Station House Officers, with vigilant supervision by Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and under the overall direction and oversight of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
