North and Middle Andaman: In the ongoing battle against drugs, the A&N Police Force, guided by specific intelligence, deployed a team from the Narcotics Cell, CID unit. This team, led by Inspector S. Kannan, included SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, ASI Sanjay Yadav, HC Sharfudeen, PC Ratan Das, PC Nandita Mistry, PC Vishal Kumar, and PC M. Raja Rao. Under the supervision of Mr. Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, Dy. SP, Narcotics, the team conducted an inspection on an individual named Ashis Majhi, son of Late Khagen Majhi, residing in Subash Gram, Diglipur, North and Middle Andaman.
Ashis Majhi had arrived at Port Blair from Kolkata on 15/11/2023 via Spice Jet Flight. The police team discovered and seized a total of 5.27 kg of Ganja concealed in his bag. Ashis Majhi was subsequently arrested under various sections of the NDPS Act.
