Kottayam: In relation to the Sabarimala pilgrimage, the distribution of Chuk coffee has commenced during the night in Erumeli and its surrounding areas, organized by the district police. The inauguration of the Chukkapi distribution in Kanmala took place yesterday evening, with Mr. MLA Sebastian Kulathinkal leading the event. The function was presided over by District Police Chief K. Karthik IPS. Chukkapi distribution has also been initiated in Ponkunnam, Erumeli, and Mundakkayam. The Chuk coffee distribution at Ponkunnath was inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA Dr. N. Jayaraj. The district police’s objective is to mitigate accidents by providing Chukkapi at night to Ayyappa devotees and tired drivers who have traveled from a distance, allowing them to resume their journey after refreshing themselves.
