New Delhi: The security of its staff is all set to be increased at Mumbai and Pune airports after the alleged threatening of Shiv Sena lawmakers to stall the airline’s operations at these two aerodromes. According to a source from Air India “The security of our staff deployed at Mumbai and Delhi airport is being enhanced due to threat to ground flight operations at these aerodromes”. The source added, the security of Air India’s employee is paramount and it can’t take any chance over this. The move also comes as some of the Air India employees’ unions at Mumbai and Pune airports are affiliated to Shiv Sena’s trade union Bharatiya Kamgar Sangh. Shiv Sena MPs had warned of grounding Air India operations at the two key airports of Maharashtra. The party was annoyed that it could not convince Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathu Raju in Parliament to lift the ban over the flying ban imposed on party MP Ravindra Gaikwad by Air India.
