Rachakonda: On December 13, 2023, acting on specific information, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of LB Nagar Zone, in collaboration with Abdullapurmet Police, dismantled an interstate Ganja syndicate. They arrested three Ganja peddlers and seized a substantial quantity of Ganja and other incriminating materials in their possession. A case has been registered at Abdullapurmet Police Station, Rachakonda, under relevant sections of the law.
The Details of the accused individuals are as follows: Vikas Tyagi, son of Yogendra Tyagi, aged 29, occupation: Plumber; Abrar, son of Qayum, aged 30, occupation: Driver; Md. Amiruddin, son of Md. Shakeel, aged 32, occupation: Tiles worker All residents of Uttar Pradesh state.
The Seized Material comprise of Ganja: 360 kilograms (Total 72 packets, each containing 5 kilograms); Mahendra XUV 500 Car: DL10CH3988; Cell Phones: 4. The seized property is valued at approximately Rs.1 crore.
Brief Facts:
The accused individuals—Vikas Tyagi, Abrar, and Amiruddin—are friends who, after being approached by a Ganja peddler in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, agreed to transport Ganja from Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, to Uttar Pradesh for a lucrative share. They followed the instructions of the Ganja receiver, traveling to Rajahmundry in a car provided by him, collecting Ganja, and delivering it to the receiver in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The accused received their share for each consignment.
On December 13, 2023, acting on reliable information, the SOT, LB Nagar Zone team, along with Abdullapurmet Police, intercepted the Mahindra XUV 500 car near Sampoorna Hotel, ORR, Abdullapurmet, seizing the mentioned materials. The accused are being sent to judicial remand.
It is reported that the accused had previously transported Ganja from Rajahmundry to Meerut via Hyderabad three to four times using the same modus operandi.
To evade police checks and vehicle identification, the accused affixed another vehicle fast tag to the crime vehicle. Additionally, one of the accused would alight before the toll plaza, rejoining the vehicle after obtaining clearance to cross the toll plaza.
These arrests were made under the direct supervision of Mr. G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and under the guidance of K. Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, LB Nagar-LB Nagar, by the SOT LB Nagar Zone Team, Abdullapurmet, and SOT LB Nagar police personnel.
