Rachakonda: Acting on specific information on December 18, 2023, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Malkajgiri Zone, in collaboration with Kushaiguda Police, successfully dismantled an interstate syndicate involved in trafficking opium and poppy straw. Two individuals were apprehended, and a significant quantity of opium, poppy straw, net cash amounting to Rs. 2,80,500, along with other incriminating materials totaling Rs. 56 lakhs, were seized from their possession. The case has been registered at Kushaiguda Police Station, Rachakonda.
The accused persons are identified as follows:
Shashipal Bishnol alias Ramesh Bishnoi, son of Bachha Ram, aged 31 years, occupation: Railing worker (previously involved in a similar case).
Madanlal Bishnoi, son of Mohanram, aged 36 years, occupation: Railing worker, residents of Jodhpur District, Rajasthan State.
The seized materials include 3.5 kg of opium, 45 grams of poppy straw powder, net cash of Rs.2,80,500, a two-wheeler vehicle (TS 07 HT 6657 – Honda Activa), 2 cell phones, and a traveling bag. All seized property is estimated to be worth about Rs.56 lakhs.
Shashipal Bishnoi and Madanlal Bishnoi, both hailing from Jodhpur district, Rajasthan, became acquainted a year ago when Shashipal was working as an office assistant at GVR Travels. Madanlal Bishnoi was associated with a bus in the same travels. Both individuals had contacts with opium and poppy straw suppliers in Jodhpur and were supplying these substances to their contacts in Hyderabad. Shashipal Bishnoi had a previous involvement in a crime related to the illegal transportation and sale of contraband opium, leading to his arrest on November 29, 2022, under the NDPS Act at Neredmet Police Station.
Both Shashipal Bishnoi and Madanlal Bishnoi devised a plan to transport and supply opium and poppy straw from Jodhpur to Hyderabad for illicit financial gain. On December 18, 2023, during early morning hours, SOT – Malkajgiri Zone, along with Kushaiguda Police, discovered opium and poppy straw in their traveling bag during a vehicle check at A.S Rao Nagar.
The arrests were made under the direct supervision of Mr. G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and the guidance of Mr. R. Giridhar, IPS, DCP, SOT-I, Mr. S. Suryanarayana, Addl DCP, SOT-I, Mr. N. Vasu, ACP, SOT-I, led by Mr. A. Ramulu, Inspector of Police, SOT, Malkajgiri Zone, Mr. B. Praveen Kumar, Inspector of Police, Kushaiguda Police Station, and Sub-Inspectors Mr. B. Parameshwar and Mr. P. Vasudev, along with SOT, Malkajgiri Zone Staff.
