Hyderabad City: On January 3, 2024, Mr. Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy, IPS, Commissioner of Police and Additional District Magistrate (Executive) for Hyderabad Police Commissionerate, invoked Section 107 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C.) to initiate proceedings against rowdies and other anti-social elements. The Commissioner, vested with powers under Cr.P.C., issued orders for 12 respondents accused of criminal activities, including murders in various police station jurisdictions within Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police Commissionerates. These respondents, identified through a report submitted by the Kalapathar police, were required to furnish security bonds with sureties to ensure maintenance of peace and good behavior for a period of one year. Additionally, six respondents from Banjara Hills Police Station were counseled for similar conduct within the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate limits.
