Rachakonda: Under the leadership of CM Revanth Reddy, there has been a significant initiative to provide employment opportunities for the wives of constables in the Rachakonda Commissionerate office through the Prajavani programme. In a notable case, Songa Shekhar, who tragically lost his life in a road accident while on duty at the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate Amber Peta police headquarters on September 30, 2021, faced challenges in securing a job for his wife, Satyalatha, from the previous government. The refusal was based on her locality for a period of two years. The family, facing hardships, approached the Telangana state government’s public radio program to highlight their situation.
Responding promptly to their plea, the Chief Minister intervened and relaxed the restrictions, ensuring that Satyalatha was offered a job. State DGP and Rachakonda CP were directed by the government to implement this decision. Accordingly, an order was issued by the DGP for CP Rachakonda to appoint Satyalatha as a Junior Assistant in the Rachakonda Commissionerate Office. The CP assured the family that they would perform their duties with efficiency, ethics, and honesty in the newly provided job, and promised continued support to the family in the future.
During a special program, family members of Constable Shekhar expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister, DGP, and CP Rachakonda. The President of the Police Officers’ Association, Chadra Reddy, along with family members of the late constable Shekhar, actively participated in the event.
