Bishnupur: On the 6th of February 2024, in a significant operation conducted by the Manipur Police, three active members affiliated with the KCP(PWG) were apprehended in Bishnupur District. The individuals in question were found to be deeply involved in the nefarious practice of extorting funds from both the general populace and government officials, thereby disrupting the peace and stability of the region.
Following their arrest, a meticulous search of their belongings yielded a trove of incriminating evidence. Among the seized items were a 9mm pistol loaded with four live rounds, a demand letter purportedly issued by the KCP(PWG) outlining their extortion directives, three mobile phones presumably used for coordinating their illicit activities, a sum of Rs 5820 in cash believed to be proceeds from their unlawful endeavors, and two two-wheeler vehicles suspected to have been utilized as means of transportation during their operations.
The discovery of these items underscores the seriousness of the offenses committed by the apprehended individuals. Consequently, legal action has been initiated, with a case officially registered in connection with this incident. As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement agencies are diligently working to uncover further details regarding the extent of the criminal activities orchestrated by the detained individuals and to bring all perpetrators to justice.
