Rachakonda: Acting on technical evidence and specific information, the sleuths of Meerpet Police, LB Nagar Zone, Rachakonda Commissionerate, busted a murder case and arrested the accused.
The accused persons were identified as Dasari Surender alias Suri alias Moin alias Muneer, son of the late Sambaiah, age 29 years, Manchala Swarnalatha, wife of Manchala Srikanth, age 25 years, Borra Arun Kumar, son of the late Venkatesh, age 24 years, Dugani Laxman, son of Prathap Singh, age 25 years, and Kethavath Arun, son of Ramesh, age 21 years all of Ranga Reddy District.
The deceased, Mohammad Salman son of the late Mohd. Feroz, age 25 years of Ranga Reddy District, had an inter-religion love marriage with Keerthi, who was well known to Dasari Surender. Since then, the deceased and Dasari Surender committed property and bodily offenses within the Tri-Commissionerates and were detained under PD Acts. Dasari Surender became acquainted with the deceased’s sister, Saba Fathima, kidnapped her on 11.02.2021, and had a love marriage with her. A rape and POCSO case was registered against Dasari Surender, and he was jailed for 80 days. After his release, he converted to Islam, changed his name to Moin alias Muneer, and started living with Saba Fathima in Althaf Nagar, Bairamalguda, LB Nagar, where they had a daughter.
On 18.12.2021, Dasari Surender was arrested by Balapur Police Station for a property offense and jailed. Upon his release on 30.07.2022, Dasari Surender and his mother harassed and killed the deceased’s sister on 30.08.2022 due to suspicions of infidelity. Dasari Surender was arrested for this murder by LB Nagar Police Station, jailed, and subjected to the PD Act.
After his release, Dasari Surender started associating closely with Manchala Swarnalatha, a cousin of the deceased. The deceased noticed this and scolded them. Holding a grudge against Dasari Surender for killing his sister and now associating with his cousin, the deceased decided to eliminate Dasari Surender, informing Dasari Surender alias Suri alias Moin alias Muneer friends of his intentions. Dasari Surender and Manchala Swarnalatha then conspired to eliminate the deceased, enlisting the help of Borra Arun Kumar, Dugani Laxman,and Kethavath Arun who agreed to assist.
On 08.06.2024 at 21:00 hours, Dasari Surender, Manchala Swarnalatha, Borra Arun Kumar, Dugani Laxman, and Kethavath Arun gathered at a friend’s room in Nandi Hills to plan the murder. Manchala Swarnalatha called the deceased, asking him to meet near TKR Kamaan by Ayyappa Swamy temple to settle a financial issue. When the deceased arrived at 22:30 hours, Manchala Swarnalatha engaged him in conversation and signaled Dasari Surender, Borra Arun Kumar, Dugani Laxman, and Kethavath Arun, armed with a knife, and Borra Arun Kumar, Dugani Laxman, and Kethavath Arun ambushed the deceased, with Dasari Surender stabbing him in the chest and slitting his throat. The group fled the scene. The deceased’s brother, Arfaz, rushed him to Medcity Hospital, LB Nagar, where he was declared dead.
On 11.06.2024 at about 05:00 hours, with the help of technical inputs, the accused were apprehended at Kurumalguda by a team led by Mr. M. Kashi Vishwanath, Inspector of Police, Mr. Y. Gowru Naidu, Detective Inspector of Police, and Mr. K. Sudhakar, Sub-Inspector of Police, with their staff, and brought to Meerpet Police Station..
During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime. Two knives used in the murder, three motorcycles, two mobile phones, and the accused’s clothes were seized from their possession and based on their statements.
The arrest was supervised by Mr. Tarun Joshi, I.P.S., Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Mr. CH. Praveen Kumar, IPS, DCP LB Nagar Zone, and directed by Mr. P. Kasi Reddy, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Vanasthalipuram Division. The arrest was executed by Mr. M. Kashi Vishwanath, Inspector of Police, Mr. Govindu Swamy, Sub-Inspector of Police, Mr. K. Sudhakar, Sub-Inspector of Police, and their team, whose diligent efforts in apprehending the accused are highly appreciated and suitably rewarded.
