Hyderabad: Acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone Team, along with the staff of Bhavani Nagar and Humayun Nagar Police Stations, apprehended six interstate drug peddlers in possession of a significant quantity of narcotic substance, specifically 164 kg of ganja. The arrests were made within the jurisdictions of Humayun Nagar and Bhavani Nagar police stations, with a case registered at Humayun Nagar Police Station.
In a specific instance, three interstate drug peddlers were caught with 100 kg of ganja near Arabian Food Corner, Paramount Colony, Road No. 86, Hakeekpet, Tolichowki, Hyderabad. The suspects were identified as Dharavath Ravi (40), Syed Bahadur (28), and Ananda Ramji Kadam (35). Alongside 100 kg of ganja, the police seized a Hyundai Accent car, four cell phones, 64 kg of additional ganja, a Santro car, a Swift Desire car, a Splendour bike, and three more cell phones.
Dharavath Ravi, a resident of Koranpally Thanda, Pitlam, Kamareddy District, had previously been arrested in a NDPS case in Maharashtra. He recently traveled to Muchumput, Odisha, where he bought 32 packets of ganja (totaling 100 kg) from a cultivator named Govind. Ravi, with his associates Syed Bahadur and Ananda Ramji Kadam, transported the ganja to Hyderabad in a Hyundai Accent car. They were apprehended near Paramount Colony by the Task Force and handed over to Humayun Nagar Police Station.
Another suspect, Shaik Parvez from Asifnagar, Hyderabad, had two prior NDPS cases in Ravulapalem, Andhra Pradesh, and Langar House, Hyderabad. While in Rajamundry Jail for the Ravulapalem case, he met a ganja cultivator and peddler named Deepak from Kalimela, Odisha. After his release in April 2024, Parvez planned to peddle ganja for easy money. He contacted Deepak, who sent the ganja to Hyderabad via RTC buses. Acting on credible information, the Task Force apprehended Parvez and two others with two cars and a two-wheeler near Sameena Hospital in Bhavani Nagar. The accused and seized materials were handed over to Bhavani Nagar Police Station.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of South West Zone Task Force Inspector Mr. S. Bala Swamy, Sub Inspector Mr. B. Ajeeth Singh, and the staff of Bhavani Nagar and Humayun Nagar Police Stations.
