Srikakulam: In Srikakulam, an initiative to combat drug abuse was recognized with a prize distribution ceremony. Team members who created impactful short films to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use were honored with awards. The first prize, amounting to 5,000 rupees, and the second prize, amounting to 3,000 rupees, was distributed to the deserving teams. The ceremony was presided over by District Superintendent of Police Mrs. G.R. Radhika, IPS.
These short films serve as educational tools and are being screened in schools and colleges across the district. Each police station jurisdiction is involved in this effort to ensure widespread dissemination of the important messages contained in these films. The aim is to educate students about the severe consequences and ill effects of drug use, thereby fostering a more informed and resilient youth population. Through these screenings, the district hopes to curb drug abuse and promote a healthier, drug-free lifestyle among young people.
