Thrissur Rural: Three individuals were arrested following a dramatic, movie-style chase that spanned 28 kilometers. Acting on a tip-off received by Dr. Navneet Sharma IPS, Thrissur Rural District Police Chief, the operation was led by Chalakudy DySP K. Sumesh, Iringalakuda DySP KG Suresh, Rural District Crime Branch DySP Ullas Kumar M, Mala Circle Inspector Sajin Shashi, Sub-Inspector Sivan, and the Dansaf Crime Squad. The suspects, Manu Baby (28) from Attokaran, Mala Kallur Vainthala; Shahid Muhammad (28) from Puthanpura, Mukkam Omassery, Kozhikode district; and Sunny Jose John (27) from Palakkad district, Parli Thenur, Tatehill, were found with approximately 100 grams of MDMA.
The district police chief received information about three individuals speeding in a car on the highway. The police team identified and intercepted the car at Pudukkad. During questioning, the suspects provided contradictory statements, leading to a detailed investigation that uncovered the MDMA.
The police team included sub-inspectors VG Stephen, P. Jayakrishnan, Satheesan Madapatil, Roy Paulus, P. M Musa, ASI U. Siljo, Senior CPOs Regi AU, Binu MJ, Shijo Thomas, Cyber Cell Police Officers Vipin, Prajit, Mala Station Additional SI Mohammad Bashi, ASI Najeeb, Senior CPO Nawaz, CPOs Najeeb and Amjit, District Intelligence Officer Biju O. H, and Special Branch Officer Vinu CD.
Shahid Muhammad had previous arrests for similar offenses in Bangalore and other locations. Manu Baby admitted to having prior cases related to the use of ganja. DySP Sumesh stated that a thorough investigation would be conducted to identify their suppliers and users of the drugs.
