Srikakulam: Acting on the directives of Srikakulam District Superintendent of Police, Mr. K.V. Maheswara Reddy, IPS, the police officers in various stations across the district launched an extensive awareness campaign targeting students in both colleges and schools within their jurisdictions. The program aimed to educate the youth about the severe consequences of engaging in illegal activities, including drug use and underage driving. The officers detailed the legal repercussions of such actions, highlighting that being involved in these offenses could lead to criminal records, which could severely impact their future opportunities, including education and employment.
Additionally, the program covered critical issues such as ragging, emphasizing its psychological and legal consequences. The police also addressed the concepts of “bad touch” and “good touch,” educating students about sexual abuse and encouraging them to report any inappropriate behavior. Cyber crimes were another focus area, with officers explaining the potential dangers of the internet and social media, including cyberbullying, identity theft, and online predators.
