Srikakulam: In Srikakulam District, individuals who have lost their mobile phones are encouraged to register a blocking request through the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal, accessible on the public website http://ceir.gov.in. Once a request is submitted, the information is forwarded to the District Superintendent of Police (SP) for further action. The District SP recently provided an update on the success of this initiative, revealing that the combined value of the recovered phones is estimated to be around Rs.15,00,000/-.
To date, a total of 618 mobile phones have been successfully traced, recovered, and returned to their rightful owners. This efficient process has been met with great satisfaction by the victims, who have expressed their appreciation for the swift and effective recovery of their stolen devices. The SP emphasized the importance of immediately filing a complaint on the CEIR portal to expedite the recovery process.
This initiative was supported by a team of dedicated officers, including ASP G. Prem Kajal, Cyber Cell CIT Mr. Srinu, and other Cyber Cell staff, who worked diligently to ensure the success of the program. Their coordinated efforts have been instrumental in the timely recovery of the stolen phones, demonstrating the effectiveness of the CEIR system in combating mobile phone theft and enhancing public safety.
