Rachakonda: Police Commissioner Mr. Sudhir Babu IPS has issued an order, as directed by the State Government, prohibiting the use of DJ sound systems during religious processions within the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate’s jurisdiction. Numerous studies have shown that the high-decibel noise produced by DJs poses significant health risks, particularly for heart patients who may experience heart attacks or other cardiovascular issues, and for young children who could suffer permanent hearing damage.
In addition to this, the Police Commissioner has taken a crucial step by banning the use of DJ sound mixers, amplifiers, and firecrackers during processions in the Rachakonda Commissionerate, citing concerns about the health of the general public, especially the elderly.
The Commissioner also warned that anyone violating these regulations or government permits will face legal action under sections BNS 223, 280, 292, 293, 324, BNSS 152, and Section 15 of the Environment Protection Act. Offenders may be punished with up to five years of imprisonment and a fine. He emphasized that officers across all zones in Rachakonda have been instructed to strictly enforce these orders. This ban has been implemented after careful consideration of the issues and challenges faced by both the public and officials on duty, taking into account various opinions before reaching this decision.
