Jammu and Kashmir, Bandipora: Bandipora Police observed Police Commemoration Day today, honoring the brave police personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
The main ceremony took place at District Police Lines Bandipora, where Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora, Shri Harmeet Singh Mehta – JKPS, along with Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shri Manzoor Ahmad Qadri – KAS, led the tributes by laying wreaths and offering flowers at the ‘Martyrs Memorial,’ joined by the families of the police martyrs.
A two-minute silence was observed, followed by a commemoration parade led by parade commander DYSP Headquarters Bandipora, Shri Lateef Ahmad Khan – JKPS, where SSP Bandipora took the salute. The event saw the participation of Bandipora police officers and officials, civil society members, families of the martyrs, and other officers who also paid floral tributes to the fallen police personnel.
In his address, SSP Bandipora, Shri Harmeet Singh Mehta – JKPS, expressed deep respect for the courage, valor, and sacrifices of the police martyrs who laid down their lives for the unity and integrity of the nation.
The event also included the distribution of gifts to the families of the martyrs, and SSP Bandipora, along with DC Bandipora, interacted with the Next of Kin (NOK) of the martyrs, addressing their concerns and assuring them of full support.
Similar commemoration ceremonies were held at various police establishments across the district.
