Telangana, Hyderabad City: In a joint operation, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW) and Humayun Nagar Police apprehended a foreign national accused of drug trafficking, seizing 50 grams of MDMA, an Apple iPhone 13, and a Sudanese passport. The operation was conducted based on credible intelligence provided by the HNEW team.
The accused, identified as Mohammed Abdul Rhman Osman (alias Mohammed, Osman, or Hanin), originally hails from South Darfur, Sudan, and currently resides in Hyderabad’s Tolichowki area. At 24 years of age, Osman had traveled to India initially on a student visa in 2016 and later returned in 2018, enrolling in a BCA program at Glocal University in Uttar Pradesh. After completing his studies and following a break due to the pandemic, Osman returned to Hyderabad in July 2024.
Osman reportedly engaged in drug trafficking to sustain a luxurious lifestyle. According to police, he collaborated with drug suppliers from various countries, including Nigeria, Tanzania, Sudan, and Palestine, as well as local sources, procuring drugs at lower prices and selling them at marked-up rates in Hyderabad. The police allege Osman employed a “dead drop” method, leaving drugs at designated locations and sharing images and coordinates with buyers, while receiving payments through digital payment platforms.
