Telangana, Hyderabad: In a significant operation against automobile theft, the Special Zonal Crime Team, CCS, DD, Hyderabad, successfully apprehended a group of offenders linked to a series of two-wheeler thefts across the city. Acting on reliable intelligence, the team conducted a swift operation on October 24, 2024, that led to the capture of a 21-year-old suspect employed at a local water plant, along with three juveniles, all allegedly involved in multiple theft cases.The accused persons were identified as Ali Abbas S/o Late Asgar Ali, Age: 21 years, and 3 Juvenile boys all residents of Hyderabad.
The police operation resulted in the recovery of six stolen motorcycles, estimated to be worth around Rs. 4 lakhs. The recovered vehicles, comprising popular models including Honda Shine, Honda Dio, Honda Activa, and Hero Splendor, had been reported missing from various police jurisdictions in the Tri Commissionerate area, covering Hyderabad, Rachakonda, and Cyberabad.
Following their apprehension, the suspects were transferred to Afzalgunj Police Station for further investigation and legal processing. Six theft cases linked to these recovered bikes had been registered across different police stations, each detailing specific instances of theft within the city.
The operation was led by Inspector D. Bikshapathi, with a dedicated team of officers from the Special Crime Unit, under the supervision of G. Venkateswara Reddy, ACP of the Special Zonal Crime Team, CCS, Hyderabad. Their joint efforts demonstrate the police department’s commitment to curbing vehicle thefts and enhancing public safety. The successful recovery not only underscores the efficiency of the Special Zonal Crime Team but also reinforces the importance of continued vigilance and proactive policing across Hyderabad.
