Telangana, Hyderabad: In an awareness program organized by TTI Begumpet for traffic violators on Monday, Mr. P. Vishwa Prasad, IPS., Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad participated as the Chief Guest and created awareness on road accidents and prevention. Speaking on this occasion, he said that most of the accidents are happening due to the lack of awareness of traffic rules. When there is no footpath on the road, walk only on the right side, so as to detect oncoming vehicles and avoid accidents. It has been informed that under no circumstances should you drive a vehicle after drinking alcohol, if you drink alcohol you should go in an auto or any transport vehicle. It will keep them and their family members safe. He said that giving up alcohol is very good because it gives a good reputation in the family and society.
He said that measures are being taken to prevent traffic accidents not only through enforcement work but also through awareness programs. Traffic signals were explained to the auto drivers. He said that every citizen should be aware of traffic rules & regulations so that road accidents can be avoided to a large extent.
About 250 traffic violators are involved in this program, and North Zone ACP G. Shankarraju, Begumpet TTI Inspector Shri. V. Ranchander, Begumpet Traffic Inspector Shri. Papaiah, his staff Ayan, Krishna and Hero MotoCorp Pvt. Ltd. Manager Sadiq Sagar and Supervisor Shravan Kumar were present.
Sri. P. Viswa Prasad, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Traffic attended Traffic Awareness Program at TTI Begumpet and addressed, emphasizing that all the commuters, two wheeler riders, Auto and Car Drivers must strictly adhere to the traffic rules and cases will be booked against those who contravenes the traffic rules and regulations. The traffic branch will continue its enforcement work against the violators. Due to lack of awareness often leads to violations, particularly cases of drunken driving. The officer stressed the importance of proper counseling for violators and creating awareness to reduce instances of drunken driving and other traffic offenses. Pedestrian safety was also emphasized as a priority. The pedestrians urged to use foot over bridges to cross roads wherever available. In areas without footpaths, pedestrians should walk on the left or right side facing oncoming traffic to avoid accidents. The Hero Honda company was acknowledged for their voluntary initiative to renovate the TTI Begumpet and expressed his gratitude for their support.
