Telangana, Rachakonda: Ahead of New Year’s Eve, the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate has announced a comprehensive plan to ensure law and order, public safety, and a smooth celebration. The measures include strict monitoring of venues, traffic management, and guidelines for event organizers.

Police will intensify surveillance in areas suspected of drug activity to prevent narcotics abuse.

Intelligence teams have been deployed to track the flow of illegal substances.

Sniffer dogs will be present at key venues to discourage attendees from carrying drugs or illicit substances.

Enhanced Security Arrangements

Additional police presence will be ensured in gated communities.

Night Supervising Officers (NSOs) and Zonal Officers will be on duty on the night of December 31 to oversee operations.

SHE Teams will monitor events to address eve-teasing and ensure women’s safety.

Road Safety and Traffic Management

Special drives will target violations like triple riding, overspeeding, and rash driving.

Vehicle checkpoints will be set up with barricades, reflective stickers, and “S” curve formations for smooth checks.

Drunk driving checks will be videographed, and violators will face stringent penalties, including vehicle seizure and fines.

Event Organizer Guidelines

Organizers of both indoor and outdoor events have been issued specific instructions:

Mandatory Permissions: All events must secure police permission at least 12 days in advance.

CCTV Surveillance: Venues, including parking areas, must be monitored as per the Telangana Public Safety Act, with backup footage maintained for post-event review.

Separate Arrangements: Dedicated entry and exit routes, fire safety measures, and designated pathways for women and children must be implemented.

Prohibition of Minors Drinking: Serving alcohol to minors is strictly prohibited, and violators will face legal action.

Sound Restrictions and Prohibited Activities

Outdoor sound systems must be turned off by 10:00 PM, in compliance with Supreme Court guidelines.

Indoor events may extend until 1:00 AM but must limit noise levels to 45 decibels.

Firecrackers, firearms, and obscenity during performances are strictly banned, and violations will attract criminal action.

Public Awareness Drive

The police have issued reminders about the legal implications of drunk and reckless driving:

Driving under the influence can lead to fines of ₹10,000, imprisonment for six months, or suspension of driving licenses.

Parents will be held accountable if minors are found driving.

Overspeeding and racing on public roads will also attract severe penalties.

Focus on Safe Celebrations

The Rachakonda Police have urged all citizens to adhere to the guidelines and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure a safe and enjoyable start to the New Year. Event organizers have been warned that violations will result in legal consequences.

This announcement underscores the commitment of the Rachakonda Police to uphold public safety and law and order during the festive season.
