Tamil Nadu, Tirunelveli: Ayyappan (20), son of Kottaiyappan and a resident of Mahadevan Kulam, Eesan Kovil Street, Vetiyaanvilai, was arrested and jailed for his involvement in a robbery case in the Vetiyaanvilai area of Tirunelveli district. Vetiyaanvilai Police Inspector Seethalakshmi identified him as being involved in assault and robbery cases and for threatening the public. Following a request to the District Superintendent of Police, N. Silambarasan, I.P.S, for action under Section 14 of the Prevention of Gangsters Act, the District Collector ordered his detention. As a result, Ayyappan was lodged in Palai Central Jail under the Prevention of Gangsters Act on 14.01.2025.
