Kerala, Thrissur: District Collector Arjun Pandian, AAS, has issued a Crime Prevention Act (CPA) order against two individuals accused in multiple serious criminal cases across various police stations in the region.
The order has been issued against Shajeer (31) of Palayamkottukaran, Vettukkattiri, Cheruthuruthi, and Rajeeb (30) of Palayamkottukaran, Lakshadweep, Cheruthuruthi. Both individuals face multiple charges including murder, attempted murder, grievous assault, robbery, theft, and offences under the NDPS Act.
Shajeer is reportedly involved in around 41 criminal cases registered at Cheruthuruthi, Shoranur, Ottappalam, Mannancherry, and Shoranur Railway police stations. Rajeeb also stands accused in several serious cases registered at Cheruthuruthi, Chelakkara, and other police stations.
The CPA order was issued based on a report submitted by Thrissur City Police Commissioner Elango R.A.P.S., and a recommendation from the Kunnamkulam Assistant Commissioner. The final order was passed by Collector Arjun Pandian under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act.
In a parallel action, a KAPPA (Kerala Anti-Social Activities [Prevention] Act) order was issued against Rajeeb by the Thrissur Range Deputy Inspector General of Police, following the same procedural reports and recommendations.
Authorities have cited these preventive measures as crucial steps in curbing anti-social activities and maintaining law and order in the district.
