Tamil Nadu, Tirunelveli, April 29: In a commendable operation, the Tirunelveli District Crime Branch successfully apprehended an absconding accused involved in a financial fraud case, demonstrating the department’s unwavering commitment to upholding the law.
The accused, Murugan (62), a former employee of the Rajavallipuram Post Office and resident of Balaji Avenue, Thatchanallur, was wanted in connection with a financial fraud case registered on the complaint of Balakrishnan, Assistant Superintendent of the Tirunelveli Postal Department. Murugan had reportedly been evading court appearances for over a month, prompting intensified search efforts.
Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan, IPS, a team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijayakumar (District Crime Branch – I), and comprising Inspector L.G. Annalakshmi, Special Sub-Inspector Kannan, and Head Constable Muthuramalingam, tracked and arrested the accused on April 29, 2025.
Police officials confirmed that necessary legal procedures are being followed, and Murugan will be remanded to judicial custody.
This decisive action highlights the Tirunelveli Police’s efficiency, vigilance, and dedication to ensuring justice in even long-pending cases, reinforcing public trust in law enforcement.
