Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: In a strong action to maintain public order and ensure community safety, Tirunelveli Police have booked Isakkimuthu (19) and Muthukumar (18) of Ponnakudi under the Goondas Prevention and Custody Act. The duo were involved in a petrol bomb attack on a two-wheeler showroom on Kannan Road on May 14.
Following the recommendation by Deputy Commissioner V. Prasannakumar (West Zone) and Assistant Commissioner K. Ajukumar (City Circle), Police Commissioner Santosh Hathimani, IPS, ordered their detention under the preventive law.
Both accused have been lodged in Palayankottai Central Jail as of June 14, 2025. The swift and decisive action reflects the city police’s firm stance against acts that threaten public peace and safety.
