Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, June 23: In a vibrant celebration promoting health and wellness, the Karaikudi Police, along with Karaikudi KMC Hospital and Mahamaharishi Foundation, successfully conducted a Yoga Awareness Rally on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
The event was flagged off at Karaikudi Old Bus Stand by Dr. Kamatchi Chandran, Chairman of KMC Hospital, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Parthiban, who graced the occasion as special guests. The rally culminated at Kannadasan Mani Mandapam near the New Bus Stand.
Hundreds of school students actively participated, performing various yoga asanas to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga among the general public. The initiative was aimed at integrating yoga into daily life and emphasizing its holistic benefits for mental and physical well-being.
The Mahamaharishi Foundation, through its initiative “Mahayoga,” has been imparting scientifically backed yoga training based on the bio-energy medicine system. Operating across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and even internationally, the foundation has made remarkable contributions in the field of wellness. Its martial arts wing, Zenskar, promotes self-discipline, mental strength, academic focus, and physical health among thousands of students.
The foundation has made the nation proud by securing 7 world records and 7 national records in yoga since the inception of International Yoga Day in 2015.
The Karaikudi Police played a commendable role in coordinating and ensuring the smooth conduct of the rally, further strengthening the bond between law enforcement and the community through wellness initiatives.
The event was organized by Karaikudi Mahayoga Meditation Lovers, with S. Kamaraj leading the yoga demonstrations and Mr. Shankar expressing gratitude on behalf of the organizing team.
