Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, June 27: In a major crackdown on illegal tobacco distribution, Ramanathapuram District Police, under the direction of Superintendent of Police Shri G. Sandesh, IPS, conducted an intensive inspection at Ramanathapuram Railway Station, resulting in the seizure of 3,600 kg of tobacco products.
The operation was carried out with the assistance of the trained sniffer dog “Aara”, whose alertness played a key role in detecting the contraband during the train search.
This decisive action reflects the district police’s commitment to curbing the illegal trade of banned substances and protecting public health. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and intended distribution network of the seized items.
