Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu: Police seized a tractor involved in illegal sand smuggling near Devipattinam, Ramanathapuram. While the tractor was being taken to the police station, Head Constable Maheshkumar was struck by a government bus in an unexpected accident. Although he was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, doctors declared him dead upon examination. The police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation. The death of Head Constable Maheshkumar while on duty has caused deep sorrow among police personnel and the general public.
