Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh: A key coordination meeting was held under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Rajnesh Singh, IPS, and Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Ramgopal Kariyare with officials from the National Highways Authority and Toll Plaza management, focusing on enhancing road safety and emergency response systems along the National Highway.
During the meeting, the following critical issues were discussed:
- Cattle Hazards: Identification of areas where cattle frequently cross or gather on the highway. The National Highway authorities were directed to form emergency response teams equipped with cow catchers and transport vehicles for the safe and immediate relocation of animals from the roads.
- Accident Response: Emphasis was placed on ensuring the availability of ambulances near accident-prone zones for swift medical assistance in case of road accidents.
- Heavy Vehicle Parking: Plans were discussed for setting up designated parking areas for heavy vehicles along the highway. Officials were instructed to install clear signboards to prevent random roadside parking.
- Illegal Parking Enforcement: It was announced that intensive action would be taken against illegal parking on highways through Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) surveillance and enforcement.
