Hyderabad, Telangana, October 31, 2025: In a remarkable example of technology-driven policing and public service, the Nampally Police successfully traced and recovered 70 missing, stolen, and lost mobile phones worth ₹11 lakh as part of a special recovery drive conducted over the past three months.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Sri R. Sanjay Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Saifabad Division, Central Zone, with the assistance of Sri K. Narayan Reddy, Inspector of Police, Sri K. Mahesh, Additional Inspector of Police, and the technical staff of Nampally Police Station.
Leveraging advanced tools such as the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, along with technical surveillance and coordination with mobile service providers, the police team meticulously tracked down mobile devices that had been reported as lost or stolen.
A formal handing-over ceremony was organized at the Nampally Police Station on October 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM, during which the recovered mobile phones were returned to their rightful owners after thorough verification of IMEI numbers and relevant documents.
Beneficiaries who received their phones expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Hyderabad City Police and especially the Nampally Police team for their prompt response, effective use of technology, and citizen-centric approach in ensuring justice and recovery of their valuable possessions.
Speaking on the occasion, officials highlighted that the success of this initiative reflects the Hyderabad City Police’s commitment to public service, technological innovation, and building public trust through efficient policing.
