Police Ensure Security for Panchayat Elections

Idukki, Kerala: Ahead of the three-tier Panchayat elections scheduled for tomorrow (09-12-2025), the Idukki District Police have put in place robust security arrangements to ensure a transparent, peaceful and voter-friendly polling process across the district.

On the instructions of District Police Chief Sri K.M. Sabu Mathew IPS, police personnel have been strategically deployed at all polling booths, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring and security.

A total of 2,483 officers are on active election duty, which includes:

* 17 Deputy Superintendents of Police

* 51 Police Inspectors

* 238 Sub-Inspectors / Assistant Sub-Inspectors

* 1,842 Civil Police Officers / Senior Civil Police Officers

* 49 Police Home Guards

* 35 Fire Safety Home Guards

* 177 Special Police Officers

To further reinforce security and coordination, 92 officers from the Excise, Motor Vehicles and Forest Departments have also been deployed.

The District Police have made meticulous arrangements to safeguard every polling booth and ensure that citizens can exercise their democratic right to vote without fear or inconvenience.

The police department assured that strict security supervision will continue until the completion of polling procedures.
