Hyderabad City, Telangana: Emphasising seamless policing across the Hyderabad metropolitan region, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, asserted that police station jurisdictions and commissionerate boundaries should never hinder crime control or maintenance of law and order. He stressed that the ‘Zero Delay’ policy must be implemented rigorously on the ground to ensure swift response to crimes and immediate justice to victims.

A high-level coordination meeting of the three police commissionerates—Hyderabad City, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda—was held on Wednesday at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TICCC), Banjara Hills. The meeting was chaired by CP Sajjanar and attended by Cyberabad CP Mr. Avinash Mohanty, IPS, and Rachakonda CP Mr. Sudheer Babu, IPS, along with other senior officers.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on city security, crime prevention, traffic management, and the movement of criminals. Field officers highlighted that with advancing technology, offenders often commit crimes in one jurisdiction and escape into another, sometimes exploiting jurisdictional delays. Responding firmly, CP Sajjanar directed that the nearest police unit must respond immediately to any crime, irrespective of commissionerate limits, ensuring there is no communication gap at any level.

He instructed that the three commissionerates should maintain joint surveillance on rowdy-sheeters and habitual offenders, with real-time intelligence sharing. Considering the frequent change of residences by criminals, he called for a robust and dynamic information-sharing mechanism to continuously track their movements.

Several key decisions were taken to further strengthen crime control and traffic enforcement. These include uniform enforcement of ‘no-entry’ timings for heavy vehicles, stopping them outside city limits during peak hours, and simultaneous joint checks across commissionerates to prevent drunk-driving offenders from escaping during weekends. It was also decided to conduct coordinated special drives to collect pending traffic challans.

To ease traffic congestion, CP Sajjanar directed real-time coordination of traffic signal timings at border junctions and called for joint action to address traffic issues caused by private travel buses.

Reiterating the unified approach, CP Sajjanar stated, “When criminals have no boundaries, the police shouldn’t have them either. Our priority is the ‘Zero Delay’ policy to deliver immediate justice. Though there are three commissionerates, our goal is one—‘Safe Hyderabad’. By working as a single force and leveraging technology, we will ensure that no offender escapes accountability.”

Cyberabad CP Mr. Avinash Mohanty, IPS, noted that with the rapid expansion of the Hyderabad metropolitan area—especially in the IT corridor and financial district—inter-commissionerate coordination is crucial. He highlighted the effective use of advanced technology and CCTV networks to track criminal movements in real time.

Rachakonda CP Mr. Sudheer Babu, IPS, advocated for the formation of joint teams and underscored the importance of information sharing to curb habitual offences and anti-social activities, including drug trafficking.

The meeting was attended by Additional CP Mr. M. Srinivasulu, Joint CPs Tafseer Iqbal, Joel Davis, Gajarao Bhupal, and DCPs from all three commissionerates, reaffirming a collective commitment to strong, coordinated, and technology-driven policing for a safer Hyderabad.
