Rachakonda, Telangana: With a firm focus on public safety and peaceful celebrations, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sri Sudheer Babu, IPS, held a high-level coordination meeting with owners and managers of pubs, bars, restaurants, farmhouses, wine shops, and event organizers within the Rachakonda limits to review and strengthen security measures for the upcoming New Year celebrations. Senior police officers including DCPs, Additional DCPs, and Inspectors from all police stations participated in the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner expressed his clear vision for the New Year, stating, “I wish for an incident-free New Year. There should be no accidents, no loss of life, and no bloodshed. Everyone must celebrate responsibly.” He urged all stakeholders to extend full cooperation to the police to ensure a safe and pleasant atmosphere during the festivities.
The Commissioner said that as large numbers of people, especially youth, actively take part in New Year celebrations, comprehensive preventive measures are being implemented to avoid law and order issues. Special police teams including Traffic Police, SOT, SHE Teams, and night patrolling units will be deployed across the commissionerate to prevent crimes and untoward incidents. He made it clear that DJ systems will not be permitted at outdoor events, fireworks are banned, and organizers must strictly adhere to the permitted crowd limits.
Highlighting the priority given to women’s safety, CP Sudheer Babu stated that SHE Teams would be on continuous duty to prevent harassment and ensure a secure environment. He also announced intensified checks to curb drug abuse, with strict action against gangs involved in supplying banned substances.
The Commissioner warned that pubs, bars, and wine shops must close strictly within the stipulated time, and any sale of alcohol to minors would invite severe legal action. He directed establishments to ensure proper parking arrangements and mandatory installation of CCTV cameras in and around their premises. Events organized at farmhouses on city outskirts must also comply with all rules, with a strict ban on drug use and indecent dance programmes.
On traffic management, CP Sudheer Babu instructed officials to enforce drunk-driving checks rigorously and take firm action against vehicle owners who allow minors to drive. As a preventive step, select flyovers will be temporarily closed during late-night hours to curb over speeding, reckless driving, and illegal bike racing.
The meeting was attended by several senior officers including Maheshwaram DCP Narayana Reddy IPS, LB Nagar DCP Anuradha IPS, Malkajgiri DCP Ch. Sridhar IPS, Yadadri DCP Akank Yadav IPS, SOT DCP Ramana Reddy, DCP Administration Indira, SB DCP G. Narasimha Reddy, Women Safety DCP Usha Rani, Traffic DCP Srinivas, Road Safety DCP Manohar, DCP Headquarters Shyam Sundar, and other officials.
