Idukki, Kerala: Student Police Cadets of Karinkunnam St. Augustine School actively participated in a pedestrian safety campaign organized in connection with National Road Safety Month 2026, ensuring safe movement for the public and promoting responsible road behavior.
As part of the state-level initiative, the cadets took charge of traffic regulation at key junctions in Karinkunnam town, guiding pedestrians on safe road-crossing practices, proper use of zebra crossings, and the importance of alertness on busy roads. The campaign was launched in response to rising road accidents, with a strong focus on creating awareness about safe walking habits.
Karinkunnam Police Sub-Inspector Sadashivan supervised the program and briefed the children on traffic safety protocols. He emphasized that road discipline should become a lifelong habit and noted that awareness instilled during childhood can lead to significant positive changes in society.
The initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Kerala Police and the Student Police Cadet movement in building responsible future citizens and strengthening community-oriented policing.
