Sukma, Chhattisgarh: In a major success for anti-Naxal operations, four wanted Maoists carrying a combined reward of ₹8 lakh surrendered before the Sukma District Police under the “Poona Margem – Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation” campaign.
The surrendered Maoists, who were active members of the Konta–Kistaram Area Committee, laid down their automatic weapons and ammunition and chose to return to the mainstream. The successful surrender was the result of sustained outreach, persuasion and confidence-building measures by the Sukma police.
This positive development highlights the effective strategy of the district police in promoting rehabilitation and peaceful reintegration, marking another significant step towards restoring normalcy and lasting peace in the region.
