Kasaragod, Kerala: In a strong crackdown on drug trafficking, Kasaragod District Police achieved a major breakthrough by seizing 54 grams of MDMA and nearly 2 kg of cannabis in two separate operations, leading to the arrest of two accused.
Acting on credible intelligence, the District Anti-Narcotics Squad (DANSAF) along with Kumbala Police intercepted a vehicle at Songal, Mangalpadi, and arrested Ideen Kunji Irshad (34) of Ambarpallam, Mangalpadi. The police recovered 54 grams of MDMA, a banned chemical drug worth several lakhs in the illegal market. The timely coordination between DANSAF and Kumbala Police led to the swift apprehension of the accused and seizure of the contraband.
In another successful operation based on confidential information, Bekal Police arrested Habib Rahman A (37) of Periya Kuniya Arafa Nagar from the Kottikulam railway platform while he was attempting to sell cannabis. The police seized 1.894 kg of ganja from his possession.
Both operations were carried out under the close supervision of senior officers, reflecting the district police’s focused approach towards eradicating narcotics. The dedicated efforts of the night Oscar duty teams and station staff played a key role in the successful detection of the cases.
The Kasaragod District Police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and appealed to the public to share information about narcotics-related activities, assuring strict action against offenders to keep the district drug-free.
