Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh: Under the able direction of DIG and SSP Mr. Rajnesh Singh, IPS, Bilaspur Police have launched a strict and sustained crackdown on DJ vehicles to curb noise pollution, illegal vehicle modifications and violations of safety norms. The special enforcement drive is being carried out across Sarkanda, Sirgitti, Civil Lines, Bilha, Masturi and Hirri police station limits under the close supervision of gazetted officers.
As part of the drive, continuous legal action is being taken against offenders for violations of the Motor Vehicles Act, noise pollution norms, height restrictions and unauthorized vehicle modifications. The police have also written to the RTO to initiate action against vehicles found with illegal structural alterations, ensuring coordinated enforcement with the transport department.
Special checks are being conducted in both urban and rural areas to prevent the nuisance caused by high-decibel DJ vehicles. So far, more than a dozen DJ vehicles have been seized during the drive. The proactive and firm action by Bilaspur Police has been widely appreciated by the public, as it aims to ensure a peaceful environment, road safety and strict compliance with the law.
