On a mission to ensure robust policing and a safe atmosphere for citizens, Director General of Police (DGP) Mr. M. Mahender Reddy told his department was taking all measures to incorporate highest quality standards. He told that the system is now so designed that criminals believe they can be caught immediately and punished. Completing the last leg of his tour of district police offices and Commissionerates in the State, the Police Chief visited Nalgonda as well as the adjacent Suryapet and Yadadri-Bhvanagiri districts on Monday. Mr. Reddy who flew down here, proceeded to the District Police Office and inaugurated an IT cell and forensics laboratory. Following that, he held a closed-door review with the district police staff for over two hours. Speaking to pressmen later, Mr. Reddy said the police’s efforts through better law and order were aimed at bringing new investment and industries to the State “so that our children get job opportunities”. Observing that robust policing standards in countries outside India was a reason that “our children are sent for education without fear”, he told that such an atmosphere was also being achieved here. To follow uniform service delivery standards across the 800 police stations in the State through best practices, the Telangana police is being shaped to grab the No.1 spot in policing in the country, said the DGP. He later visited Suryapet, and inspected the district police office under construction, and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, before he left to Hyderabad. Hyderabad Range IGP Mr. Stephen Raveendra and District Superintendents of Police were present.
